An update regarding service and programs this weekend (March 13, 2020)

Dear Church Family,

The leadership of The Mount Vernon Seventh-day Adventist Church is monitoring the impact of the COVID-19 virus (Novel Coronavirus) in our community. With that said, we will have worship tomorrow, March 14th, for Sabbath School and Divine Worship only.

Out of concern for our most vulnerable members that are at increased risk, and in accordance with the Governor of New York who has declared a state of emergency and has put a 500-person limit on gatherings, Divine Service will be streamed live via our social media platforms which will give you an opportunity to worship virtually.  The links to our live stream and online giving pages can be accessed by clicking on the images below. They can also be found on our website: www.mtvernonsda.org.

We strongly urge anyone who is elderly, sick or has any health issues to stay home and take advantage of our media platforms.

Please note: All other programmings for this weekend has been canceled including choir rehearsals, Children’s Church, Bible Class, the EDH Legacy Foundation Concert, and Career Prep 101. Additionally, the Education Department is suspending all weekly classes until further notice (e.g. Rise & Grind, Chess Class, Speech Class 101, Crotcheting & Knitting, etc.)

The effects of coronavirus are reverberating around the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and families who have come into direct contact with the virus, locally and across the globe.

Blessings & Happy Sabbath,
The Pastoral Staff & Church Board
